Part of our 8th Anniversary coffee selections, the Gesha Filter Series consist of  competition-grade and experimental coffees that is both delicious and promised not to hurt the pockets, sourced from both Guatemala and Panama.

Located in the world-renowned coffee-producing region of Huehuetenango, Guatemala sits the 84-hectare farm, La Reforma. Purchased originally in the 1900s, the farm is now in its fourth generation of ownership and continues to produce a variety of tasty lots. 

Huehuetenango is not only one of the highest regions under cultivation in Guatemala, but also one of the driest, making it an optimum environment for specialty coffee growing and processing. This is because the municipality of Huehuetenango sits on the Sierra de Los Cuchumatanes, the highest non-volcanic mountain range in Central America. To the South West of Huehuetenango, sits the sub-municipality Cuilco, named after the Cuilco River that runs through it. Here, amongst the stunning landscape, sits the farm La Reforma. 

La Reforma supports several local varieties, including; Caturra, Castillo, Bourbon, Marsellesa & Pacamara, all of which grow well at high altitudes. As well as these, Don Willy has planted new varieties, such as Gesha. Due to the ever- increasing premiums paid for 85+ SCA scoring lots, numbers of new varieties and ‘Nano lots’ continue to grow to meet demands. As well as Gesha, William is planning to plant both Bourbon and Java varieties, continuing to increase the variety at La Reforma. 

For the Gesha Filter Series, both the Gesha varietals from Guatemala and Panama are micro-roasted to order and canned by hands in 150gm serving per unit and they come in whole bean only, with request to grind only on a case by case basis.
